- A military coup in Honduras today.
- Legislative elections in Argentina today.
- Colombia’s president is in Washington tomorrow. (On that story, I’m in tomorrow’s Washington Post.)
But, you know, Billy Mays and Michael Jackson. Can’t compete with that.
Michael Jackson was enough, but then some guy who sells shit on TV dies and people care? Seriously?
Who knows, maybe the guy (Billy) had some endearing qualities, I don’t know. I’ve never seen him because I really don’t watch too much television. But really? Are we really so desperate for people to admire? I know it seems dramatic, but I nearly quit Twitter today because of all the emotion being poured into this guy dying.
I spend a lot of time on Twitter (and in regular life, for that matter) talking and worrying about frivolous shit. But my heros are people like @adamisacson, who pay attention and shape the real issues of the world. It’s people like him who I aspire to be. Especially when it comes to the part about being consistently funny.
